    Briarcliff Trails of Our Community is an organization that strives to preserve the nature and beauty of the Briarcliff community.

    “When the community makes you feel good to come home to everyday, it just made me feel that I wanted to make sure that feeling would continue for the next generations of families that live here,” says Tim Johnston, co-founder of Briarcliff Trails of Our Community.

    In 2009, Johnston and his daughter, Jenny, founded the non-profit organization with a mission to keep the 28-neighborhood community free of blight and thriving through public improvement projects and community events.

    Since the founding of Briarcliff Trails of Our Community, the organization has secured more than $1.2 million for the Briarcliff community with the help of local businesses, the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund, and the city of Kansas City, Missouri.

    Each donation has helped to complete public improvement projects such as the beautification of the L.T. Martin Chimney along 9 Highway and the creation of the Briarcliff Natural Trail, the new walking trail and shelter house located in Water Works Park. In addition, the contributions help to carry out fun community events such as the U.S. Air Force Band Concert and Saturday Night Outdoor Movies.

    The Saturday Night Outdoor Movies event is free to the public and perfect for all ages. The event has gained popularity over the years, bringing in 200 to 600 guests each showing. Each Saturday Night Outdoor Movies showing starts around dusk or 8:45 p.m. at the Village at Briarcliff. Briarcliff Trails of Our Community provides the view with the two-story movie screen and Mulberry Lake as the back drop, but guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic dinners.

    Join Briarcliff Trails of Our Community on June 3rd as they kick-off the Saturday Night Outdoor Movie event at the Village at Briarcliff. Enjoy bouncy houses, face painting, a caricaturist, and food trucks, as you wait for the premiere of the first outdoor movie showing: Moana.
